Mark Spain - Artist
On behalf of Whitewall Galleries and Demontfort Fine Art, we headed to Mark Spains studio to shoot a micro documentary on his work, process and lifestyle. All shot during a summers afternoon, we wanted the documentaries style to be in keeping with his art - Controlled, thought out and reflective. For this intimate and relaxed shoot, we took a simple one camera set up, leaning towards thought out, longer moves on a dolly to again reinforce the calm purposeful way that Mark Spain paints.
The colour palette for this documentary was ‘a summers afternoon’. The production was carried out in the depths of an English summertime, so we wanted to reinforce this with a saturated, stylistic colour grade. While not aiming to be natural with the colour and tone, we achieved a ‘Summers memory’ feeling.
